What is AAU Club Sports?

The AAU club sports program allows you to start your own individual club team (s) or a larger club program. In either setting you are the director of your club and have full control over all aspects of your club and teams. The fees you charge are determined by you based upon what you need to have to run the programs you have elected to put into place. The only fees you pay to the AAU are:
1) Annual Club fee: (payable to the AAU. REGISTER AT WWW.AAUSPORTS.ORG) IS $360 TOTAL for the entire year. Regardless if you have (1) team in (1) sport of (25) teams in (5) sports (for example. The fee of $360 for the year makes you an "A/B" level club and makes you  a tax qualified subordonate under the AAU tax status.
2) AAU card fee (annual): This fee registers each participant as a member of the AAU and affords them secondary insurance benefits. Additionally once a participant has this AAU card they can participate in any AAU programs you or another club offers without having to reregister in order to participate. The fee for the Athlete membership card is $14 and for coaches it is $16 for the entire year.

As an "A/B" club you may elect to participate in either sanctioned AAU events or in other non AAU events/games as you see fit.

IS THERE A LOCAL GOVERNING BODY TO DICTATE WHAT I CAN AND CANNOT DO?

NO. With the AAU format you determine all aspects of your clubs business from the practice schedules for your teams/sports to fees you charge to internal standards There is NO national governing board to dictate when you may teach your athletes or to dive into your pockets for an annual :franchise fee".  Additional benefits to the AAU format is that there are NO geographic boubdaries, NO minimum play rules and NO limits to the maximum size of your rosters. YOU determine what works best for you and your program.

You are not subjected to the mandates of a local board of directors or other governing body nor are you required to pay fees and expenses to any outside league.

The AAU format puts you in control of your programs similar to that of an "Athletic Director" of a high school or college program should you elect to grow your club into a multi sport or multi team organization.

Otherwise you may simply elect to have (1) team in (1) sport in (1) division and play
as you see fit whenever and wherever you decide.

CAN MY EXISTING ORGANIZATION JOIN THE AAU PROGRAM?

Yes. You may elect to run your AAU program exactly like your  current organization style whereby you have a board of directors, president, secretary and treasurer. THE DECISION IS YOURS TO MAKE.

What is the California State AAU League?

The CSAAUL is a multi sports AAU league that is formed so to align AAU/club teams for sanctioned and unsanctioned athletic competition. There are various teams within various geographic areas that may elect to become part of the CSAAUL (FREE OF CHARGE) so they can extend their opportunities to compete against the best teams from the State, Region & Country if they so choose. Additional benefits include the ranking of  participating teams based upon a multi factored system to determine where teams stack up compared to state wide talent.

The league will arrange and schedule regular season games as well as "State Championship" playoff and tournaments for AAU conferences/teams and act as the information portal for standings and results. Furthermore teams may elect to utilize the registry (of teams) from the CSAAUL web site directory to schedule games or communicate with other organizations.

ONE CLUB, ONE VOTE. Everyone's voice is heard and your input and decisions set the standards.
